Spotting damage caused by the sun is a fairly easy process. In early adult hood damaged skin is easier to spot. Wrinkles should feel harsh and coarse if they were caused by over exposure. It should feel somewhat rough and have a skin color pigment which is discolored. It is normal to have skin that is colored differently in patches. Trouble areas such as the back and neck will have a leathery feel to it, usually fairly dry. Indications to a possible of skin cancer are small red and brown spots that feel harder then your other areas. There are times when these areas are difficult to be seen but can be felt easily. If not treated right away, these spots may evolve into thick white skin. Trouble areas include face, backs of the hand, and lower legs.

There are many treatments to reverse the damage done by the suns rays, however there no better treatment then prevention. Diets that are high in fruits and vegetables are a good way to power up your skin to fight any possible damage. Remember to also shield your skin from the sun as best as you can. Wear light clothing that covers any trouble skin areas, and make use of shade when you can. Wear sunscreen whenever you will be outdoors. Apply sunscreens with the proper SPF to suit the occasion, and apply it often throughout the day. A good tip is to avoid the sun when it is at its strongest points.
