Senior Foot Care Resources
Looking for information on senior foot care, we can help. The sun is an important aspect of everyday life. It regulates the earth's time, gives life to the earth, and is essential to our survival; however, it does harm out skin. We all need the vitamin D from the sun, but too much exposure will cause age spots, accelerate aging, create burns, and maybe even cause skin cancer. The suns effects on our skin can be classified into two categories, acute and chronic. Acute affects include common sun burns or rashes from short term over exposure. Chronic affects include the compounded skin exposures over time which causes long term lasting affects. The chronic affect most known are visual changes known as photo aging.
Treatments for oily skin include Benzoyl peroxide, topical antibiotics, and topical vitamin A derivatives. Benzoyl peroxide is a product which can be attained without prescriptions. It is used to reduce bacteria and cleanse pores. The first few uses may cause irritation, but the skin will become accustomed to it over time. Topical antibiotics are used in cases of mild acne. It is a cream which is applied twice a day to reduce bacteria and redness. Topical antibiotics are only available by prescription. Topical vitamin A derivatives are used to help eliminate blackheads, whiteheads and unclogging pores. This is also only available by prescription.
