Spotting damage caused by the sun is a fairly easy process. In early adult hood damaged skin is easier to spot. Wrinkles should feel harsh and coarse if they were caused by over exposure. It should feel somewhat rough and have a skin color pigment which is discolored. It is normal to have skin that is colored differently in patches. If not treated right away, these spots may evolve into thick white skin. Trouble areas include face, backs of the hand, and lower legs.

If your family is probable to skin cancers, it would be good to have yearly check ups at a dermatologist. It is important to identify skin cancers as soon as possible to prevent any possible spreading. There are many forms of skin cancers however, you should always check for two things. Pigment discolorations and any hard areas may be signs of skin cancer. If any areas that fit into that category are found, it is best recommended to get them checked by a dermatologist as soon as possible. Pigmentations are usually brownish red or dark brown. The skin should feel rough with a bit of depth to it.

Topical antibiotics are used in cases of mild acne. It is a cream which is applied twice a day to reduce bacteria and redness. Topical antibiotics are only available by prescription.
