Dermatologic Skin Care Resources
Looking for information on dermatologic skin care, we can help. Although we all enjoy long periods of sunshine outdoors, throughout our lives the majority of times spent outdoors is in short intervals. There is a positive correlation between the amount of ultra-violet light and skin care damage. For this reason we can conclude that there is no such thing as a good or safe tan. Every time the skin is tanned it only gets more and more damaged. If it was a natural tan or an artificial tanning bed, the result is still the same; tanning damages your skin. Those who are constantly working outdoors are more likely to be a victim to photo damage. Similar to the sun, smoking is another factor which cases skin damage. It accelerates skin aging, and also has a chance of causing skin cancers.
If your family is probable to skin cancers, it would be good to have yearly check ups at a dermatologist. It is important to identify skin cancers as soon as possible to prevent any possible spreading. There are many forms of skin cancers however, you should always check for two things. Pigment discolorations and any hard areas may be signs of skin cancer. If any areas that fit into that category are found, it is best recommended to get them checked by a dermatologist as soon as possible. Pigmentations are usually brownish red or dark brown. The skin should feel rough with a bit of depth to it.
