When purchasing cleansers, remember to by mild or light depending on your skin texture. Start with a mild and slowly move towards light when needed. The same strategy should be used with cosmetics; nothing should be put on skin which has the chances to irritate it. Only cosmetics which are do not have oil foundations should be used to avoid further irritation. Instead try to find water based cosmetics. They are more natural and allow pores to breathe. It is used to reduce bacteria and cleanse pores. The first few uses may cause irritation, but the skin will become accustomed to it over time. Topical antibiotics are used in cases of mild acne. It is a cream which is applied twice a day to reduce bacteria and redness. Topical antibiotics are only available by prescription. Topical vitamin A derivatives are used to help eliminate blackheads, whiteheads and unclogging pores. This is also only available by prescription.

Remember that you should only reduce consumption not eliminated. Toxins should also be eliminated; this includes margarine and hydrogenated fats, sugars, aspartame, mono sodium glutamate (MSG), fried foods, and alcoholic drinks. Foods which discourage oily skin are primarily organics such as vegetables.
